Did you know that it is World Down Syndrome Day today?

Our DS Active Team are taking over our social media this afternoon to share with you some videos they made about why they love playing football with Lincoln City Foundation!

Our DS Active team have been unable to train during the pandemic and have been meeting on Zoom instead. They were recently surprised on the online session by Paralympian Jack Rutter. Read the Full story HERE.

Our DS Active session runs under our football development programme and aims to provide opportunities for participants with Down Syndrome to play in a fun but engaging learning environment. The session is for players aged 16+ and takes place on a weekly basis.

Our team of coaches will work on a syllabus with a topic each week, covering the FA four corner model and ensuring players receive a holistic football experience. These topics will then be reinforced through small-sided games in training with the aim to prepare players to represent the City in fixtures.

The programme also looks to have a well-organised games programme which we will be aiming to develop further providing regular fixtures against other DS Active teams. The players will also represent Lincoln City in the DS Actie National League/Cup which is a national competition.
