We had a "Show Racism the Red Card" workshop!

Recently at an evening PL Kicks session, we delivered a special “Show Racism The Red Card” workshop in line with the Premier League’s No Room For Racism week. The session aimed to raise awareness, encourage discussion, and inspire positive action among our young participants.

We began with an open conversation around what racism means and how it affects individuals, teams, and communities. Young people shared powerful thoughts on fairness, respect, and inclusion, recognising that racism impacts everyone — not just those directly targeted.

We looked at real-life examples from the sporting world and explored how professional athletes have faced racism and shown incredible resilience in standing up against discrimination. These stories helped reinforce the importance of solidarity and using your voice to challenge injustice.

To close the session, we launched our “design a kit” competition, inviting participants to create a football shirt that represents equality and unity. The creativity was fantastic and a brilliant way to celebrate diversity through sport!
