Siemens Energy will represent Lincoln City Foundation in the inaugural Lincoln Krazy Races on Sunday 15 September.
The Foundation was named as the event’s headline charity partner at the launch event in April.
As part of this the Foundation was allotted one space in the competition, with Siemens Energy partnering with the charity to manufacture a car and race it in the event.
Modelled on the vintage Ruston cars, two of which are preserved at the Lincoln site, Siemens’ soapbox is adorned with the famous City Imp.
Phil Hatherley, head of transformation and service engineering at Siemens Energy, said: “Getting involved with Krazy Races has allowed us to find out more about Lincoln City Foundation. We called out for volunteers within the company and got a team together to build the car - and we’re looking forward to what will be a really fun day!”
Siemens were one of a number of teams that had their cars evaluated by the Krazy Races team at the Scrutineer event which was held at the LNER Stadium.
Each car was put under a series of tests to ensure that it was safe to drive and followed the official rules and guidelines.
Alex Bavin, director of operations at the Foundation, commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been named the charity partner for Lincoln Krazy Races.
“Siemens Energy have done a fabulous job at developing their car on the original Rustons design, and we’re really excited for the event on Sunday 15 September to watch everyone in action!”
