Over 100 local people joined together on Friday 7 November, to celebrate the Festival of Lights at the LNER Stadium.

The event took place in the Branston Legends Lounge and celebrated a range of cultures, with those in attendance bringing along different foods and activities to showcase their heritage.

Coffee, curries and an array of desserts were dished up, followed by Bollywood and Irish dancing, Henna tattoos and music by the St Peter at Gowts Primary School Choir.

Those in attendance didn’t let the bad weather dampen their spirits, with lanterns decorated by primary school children displayed around the room to celebrate light.

The festival was supported by UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), Investors in Lincoln, and the National Lottery Community Fund, who, along with Maze Matters, helped to bring the event to life, allowing communities to come together in celebration.
