Lincoln City Foundation hosted an Iftar celebration last Thursday in order to celebrate Ramadan.

Ramadan is the ninth month on the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, communal prayer, reflection, study of the Quran, charity and strengthening of communal ties.

The Foundation invited families from the local Mosque to attend the LNER Stadium, some of which had never visited the stadium before - highlighting that this is a space for everybody in the community.

The celebration started with a prayer lead by Imam, an attendee at the stadium. This was followed by the group sharing dates and water as well as locally cooked foods. These foods included Pizza from Mixor, biriyani, curry and salad as well as fresh fruit.

Community Leader Emilia Zirker said: ''It was a beautiful experience for all, with a surprise visit from Poacher and a stadium tour to really top off the evening. Thank you to all those who attended.''
