The Foundation has been chosen as the Lincoln Golf Club captains’ official charity for 2026, with the club committing to fundraise for the Foundation across the year to support the development of new and much needed programmes.

Early engagement with the incoming 2026 club captains Philip Barnatt and Margaret Stern clearly demonstrated a strong alignment between the charity’s mission and the values of the club.

Throughout the partnership, the Foundation and Lincoln Golf Club will work together closely to share the breadth of the Foundation’s work, raise awareness of our impact, and also create meaningful opportunities for members, staff, and supporters to get involved in our programmes to support their own health and wellbeing.

The partnership launched at the beginning of 2026 and will see Lincoln Golf Club, its members and staff support the Foundation over the next 12 months through a range of fundraising and engagement activities, including a charity golf day.

Alex Bavin, director of growth at Lincoln City Foundation, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as Lincoln Golf Clubs Captains’ charity for 2026.

“Lincoln City Foundation delivers programmes across three key areas, health and wellbeing, education and employability and sport and physical activity, and we are passionate about inspiring, empowering, and supporting individuals and communities to improve their physical, social, and mental wellbeing.

“This partnership with Lincoln Golf Club will help ensure we can continue supporting communities across Lincolnshire while enabling us to grow programmes uniquely designed to meet local needs. We are incredibly excited to see what we can achieve together over the months ahead.”

Phillip Barnatt, club captain, Margaret Stern, ladies captain and Simon Morris, seniors captain, said: “We are delighted the Lincoln City Foundation accepted our invitation to become our Charity of the Year for 2026.

“We feel Lincoln City Foundation has a wonderful range of programmes which resonate with our desire to help a local charity which benefits both Lincolnshire sport and the community as a whole.

“In addition to our fundraising, we are sure our members and families will have great opportunities to benefit from the charity’s programmes.”
