Fighting Fit reaching coastal Lincolnshire communities

Lincoln City Foundation’s health and wellbeing department have built on the success of its Fighting Fit programme by expanding and increasing the impact the sessions have on the local Lincolnshire community.

Fighting Fit is now held in seven locations across the county, including most recently starting in Market Rasen.

The Foundation has also been delivering Fighting Fit sessions in Mablethorpe, targeting coastal communities, with the group thriving under the tutorship of Phill Watson and Laura Spurr.

The undeniable impact that Fighting Fit Mablethorpe has had on its local community was recognised at the East Lindsey Community Ambassador Awards with the group nominated for ‘Group Champion’.

Foundation team member Laura was also selected by the committee as a nominee for the ‘Individual Champion’ award.

Fighting Fit was furthermore acknowledged through the programme’s connection to the NHS Lincolnshire ICB Living with Cancer team, who were recently recognised in the Impact on Health category at the Active Lincolnshire Sport and Physical Activity Awards. The Foundation’s partnership with this team is highly valued as they have supported and continue to support the development of the Fighting Fit programme.

Are you living with cancer, or has your life been affected by cancer? Then Fighting Fit could be the perfect place to improve your physical and mental health. Find out more HERE.

Thank you to Streets Heaver for your ongoing support of the Fighting Fit programme.
