Sunday 12th May 2024 saw the Lincoln City DS Active squad head to Bottesford as part of Bottesford Town’s annual tournament.
Our squad was made up of Tom N, Tom W, Danielle, Orla, James, William, Mila and Darryl.
The tournament was made up of DS Active teams from Lincoln City, Bottesford Town, Burton Joyce and Derby County.
Each game was 10 minutes and each team played their opponents twice, so Lincoln played six games:
Game 1: Derby County 0 v Lincoln City 5
Game 2: Lincoln City 3 v Bottesford Town 1
Game 3: Burton Joyce 2 v Lincoln City 3
Game 4: Lincoln City 1 v Derby County 1
Game 5: Bottesford Town 0 v Lincoln City 3
Games 6: Lincoln City 2 v Burton Joyce 2
These results meant that City won the tournament, with Derby County 2nd, closely followed by Bottesford Town and Burton Joyce.
Considering the scorching heat, every player in the Imps' team played really well, and showed the hard work put in on the training pitch.
A special mention goes to Danielle, who was named City's player of the tournament by the organisers.
