Poacher & Poacher's Assistant

Locations:  LNER Stadium, Lincoln
Hours:         Home Matchdays including Saturday's and Tuesday evenings.

                     Variable - Community Events as required

Do you love football, fun, and making people smile?

We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to join the Lincoln City FC family as either Poacher the Imp or Poacher’s Assistant.

​

Poacher is our cheeky, friendly mascot who brings the energy on matchdays and at community events. Whether you’re inside the costume or helping behind the scenes, you’ll be at the heart of the action, making unforgettable memories for fans of all ages.

You can volunteer in one of two ways:

• Be Poacher – don the famous costume, wave to the crowd, pose for selfies, and bring the Imp spirit to life.

• Be Poacher’s Assistant – keep Poacher safe, guide them through busy areas, and help fans enjoy their moment with the mascot.

Both roles are important in helping us ensure that everyone leaves with a smile and special memories of their visit.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from people who are:

• Friendly, enthusiastic, and confident engaging with the public, especially children and families.

• Able to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and stay calm in busy environments.

• Committed to upholding safeguarding, equality, and inclusion – ensuring everyone feels welcome and respected.

• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with supporters, staff and external partners.

• Physically able to wear a mascot costume for short periods (Poacher role).

• Possessing good situational awareness to guide and support others (Assistant role).

• Experience in events, performance, or public engagement is helpful but not essential – what matters most is a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

• A non-working matchday ticket for home games.

• Food vouchers for working matchdays.

• Full training, including safeguarding (and first aid if needed).

• Ongoing support from our staff team.

• The chance to represent the Club and Foundation as part of our community.
