Foundation Nominated for Workplace Wellbeing Award.

We are pleased to announce that we have been shortlisted for a Workplace Wellbeing Award! The awards, hosted by Active Lincolnshire will take place tonight at a face to face event.

The workplace wellbeing award is for,

A Lincolnshire employer from any sector that has excelled in supporting the physical wellbeing of their staff through encouraging and facilitating active lifestyles and an active work environment, at home or in the place of work. A workplace that have continued and/or excelled in their staff wellbeing provision and encouraging an active lifestyle (in particular whilst the business delivery has been disrupted with staff working from home).

Take a look at our nomination and why we were nominated below.

Whilst staff were working from home during the Covid-19 pandemic Lincoln City Foundation introduced new support to ensure their workforce could remain active and reap the benefits of physical activity.

Staff were allocated a daily ‘wellbeing break’ and encouraged to step away from the laptop, get out of the house, and engage in a walk/run or another form of activity – this was especially promoted during winter when access to daylight would have otherwise been limited.

Several staff also joined forces to take on a ‘Walk in the Park’ walking challenge during May, using their steps to raise funds for the Foundation’s Team Talk mental health programme as well as enjoying being active together. Foundation Managers additionally completed 1-1 wellbeing conversations with all staff as restrictions were lifted to gain an understanding of the workforce and identify any wellbeing concerns that may be apparent.

These conversations highlighted how staff missed being connected to one another, and therefore several team building activities were arranged during a ‘Restricted Leave’ week which included, Yoga and Gardening. Lastly, the Foundation offered all staff the opportunity to become qualified mental health first aiders, which resulted in 70% of the workforce gaining the accreditation. This knowledge will support the Foundation workforce internally as well as the wider participants and beneficiaries the team engage with moving forward.

The awards ceremony takes place tonight, keep an eye on Active Lincolnshire, and our social channel to see the results.
