Executive Board Trustees

Our mission is ‘to create and provide opportunities that inspires and empowers individuals and communities to develop and improve their physical, social and mental well-being’.  We are a leading organisation championing Sport, Education, Health and Inclusion across Lincolnshire.

We are looking for your skills and experience at Board level to help deliver our mission and grow the Charity to support more people, if you think you can help then we very much look forward to hearing from you.

We are looking for committed individuals to expand the range of Trustee skills as well as to consolidate existing skills with an eye to succession planning.  We require dynamic and motivated people who are sympathetic to the aims and objectives of Lincoln City Foundation to fulfil these voluntary duties. 


We expect Trustees to contribute actively to the Executive Board by giving strategic direction; setting overall policy; defining goals and setting targets; evaluating performance; ensuring the charity’s effective and efficient administration and financial stability.

We want to have a wide range of people on the Board and seek to be representative of the diverse population of Lincolnshire.  There is no need to have trustee experience to apply.

To expand the current Executive Board, based on a recent skills audit, we are looking for people with the following skills, to deepen our expertise:

  • Marketing, Digital Technology and Publicity

  • Fundraising

  • Commercial

Trustees are expected to

  • attend four Executive Board Meetings per year

  • attend four Sub Committee Meetings per year

  • get involved in support work including fixed term projects;

  • contribute advice and support on an ad hoc basis; and

  • attend events

The Executive Board currently has 9 Trustees with the Articles of Association allowing a maximum of 12. Each Executive Board Member can serve a maximum of eight consecutive years (2 x 4 years terms) if elected to remain on the board following the first four years.
