Lincoln City Foundation are continuing their offer of support to the Sincil Bank community in light of recent changes to Government advise in relation to Covid-19 lockdown measures.
Originally formed in Spring, our Community Response Team, working in partnership with the Lincolnshire Coop food stores and pharmacies, connected with local households to ensure they received their essential shopping and prescriptions whilst shielding or self-isolating. The service proved vital to many vulnerable individuals who may not have had the support networks around them to remain safe and follow the Government guidelines.
As the country enters a second national lockdown period to combat the continued effects of the Covid-19 outbreak, we want to remind local people that help is available for those who find themselves having to self-isolate or who simply want to remain safe at home. Our Community Response team can support Sincil Bank residents with shopping, picking up urgent supplies, or collecting medicine, and are more than happy to lend a hand.
For those who may find themselves feeling alone or isolated in the weeks ahead, the Foundation is also offering a city-wide befriending service, primarily aimed at those aged over 50, for anyone who would like a friendly chat with one of our team.
Alice Carter, Senior Community Organiser at the Foundation, said; “Another lockdown period presents a challenge for us all, and as a Foundation we feel it is crucial that we can offer continued support for the Sincil Bank community. Asking for help, whether that be needing some milk and bread or feeling like you simply need to chat to someone, is vitally important as we look to safeguard each other’s health and wellbeing”
Lincoln City Foundation care deeply about the community and hope that the continuation of our Covid-19 Community Response work will help those currently in greatest need.
