We're here to help!
Lincoln City have stepped up to the challenge when faced with the potential devastating effects COVID-19 could have on Sincil Bank and have shown their commitment to support the neighbourhood and its residents in its greatest time of need.
As the worldwide pandemic sweeps across the country, communities are being put to the test as they battle, loss of income, isolation and illness. As a charity, Lincoln City Foundation exists to support and inspire the lives of individuals in its communities, many of which fall into the current ‘vulnerable’ category.
As part of a joined-up response, the Foundation are coordinating the Community Response Team for Sincil Bank maximising its resources to support the local community. The Foundation’s Community Organising Team are leading the response locally and have delivered leaflets to residents with more information.
Our Community Organisers have already received requests for support and have spoken to members of their Extra Time Hubs members and are exploring ways to keep the group connected and provide regular social interaction.
Our Community Response Team, in partnership with the Lincolnshire Coop food stores and pharmacies, are set up and connect with local households to ensure they receive their essential shopping and prescriptions whilst self-isolating. This service is vital as many vulnerable individuals may not have support networks around them to remain safe and follow the current government guidelines.
LCFC season ticket holders have also been invited to access this support if they fall into the vulnerable group in Sincil Bank with teams across the county reaching as many people as possible.
Paul Hamnett, Head of Foundation at Lincoln City Foundation said:
“Lincoln City care deeply about the community and hope that this service goes a long way to help those currently in greatest need.
“We are here to help so please do not hesitate to make contact.”
Volunteers can contact the team and be part of the support offer with the aim to bring together other local groups, making a bigger impact in the areas that need it.
