Last night we were very pleased to announce the winners of our Sincil Bank Lockdown Champion Awards.
Last month we launch our Sincil Lockdown Champion awards and asked you to vote for the people who had made a difference to you during the pandemic. The Nominations flooded in and we were truly overwhelmed by all the amazing acts of kindness that happened in the Sincil Bank area alone. With the help of our friends at Lincolnshire Co-Op we surprised our winners yesterday with their award and lots of different goodies.
So without further ado, the winners were.....
Shielding Superhero - Daniel Purdy
We are so happy to have been able to present the award for Shielding superhero to Daniel Purdy.
The nominations for Dan came flooding in and we were thrilled to be able to present him with this award to honour his amazing effort over lockdown.
This was one of the many nominations we received for dan : "Dan has set up a Facebook page called keep smiling with Daniel Purdy where he regularly does charity donations, food Bank deliveries, videos of himself to put a smile on his face, and free prize give aways! Just putting others first he really deserves this!"
Ultimate Under 18 - Michael Bellshaw
We were very pleased to give this award to Michael Bellshaw for his inspirational work collecting and delivering scrub bags around the area.
This is what his nomination had to say about him:
"Michael worked with me to collect and distribute scrub bags for the NHS and care homes made by members of our church. Weekly he collected them from the people who had made them and then delivered them to local care homes. Over the 5 weeks we undertook the project we collected 346 bags! For Lincoln Hospital and 6 local Care homes. He also made a video to promote the project for church!"
Brilliant Business - Sam Langford from the Samitarium Podcast
Our final winner was Sam Langford from The Samitarium Podcast - a not-for-profit local project.
This was one of many nominations that we received for Sam:
"Sam has done incredible work and raised a great amount of money for charities specifically revolving around mental health. Sam works tirelessly to raise awareness for mental health issues via his facebook page 'The Samitarium Podcast' where he hold charity raffles, regular updates and chats as well as producing his own podcast. Mental health in general is so important and has been more so during these dark days and Sam has always been proactive to raise awareness and help others."
