Lincoln City Foundation celebrating BTEC success and new partnership with NCS with a Quiz Night

This year has been a little different for everyone, whether that be staff working from home, BTEC students working exceptionally hard via online learning, young people from our Premier League Kicks programme unable to come to face to face sessions and NCS adapting to the changes that this year has brought. We have all pulled together to create a fun virtual evening to celebrate all our young peoples successes.

BTEC students have continued to work incredibly hard throughout lockdown, attending virtual classes and handing in work around the clock. They have adapted well to the changes and we are very proud of all their success.

Hanna Storey, Education Manager, expressed how the positive impact that virtual learning has had on our students: “I am extremely proud of the students and what they are achieving. The group has really got behind the aspect of virtual learning and it is proving to be a valued addition to the course."

Young people that are also a part of the Premier League Kicks is a programme will be able to attend the event. The programme was introduced to work within the local community to inspire young people across the country. Due to social distancing restrictions the programme has not been able to run face to face but from July we are hoping to run Monday’s Youth Club again. This will be outdoors with only for 5 participants at a time, more details to follow soon.

NCS has also faced its own challenges this year with a new repurposed programme which allows young people to be a part of local social action projects and volunteering opportunities to allow charities to get back on their feet and communities to come together stronger than ever.

Jasmine Craft, NCS Officer said “This has been a big change and, as new providers of NCS, we are looking forward to young people seeing the benefits in the new Summer programme which will lead into further NCS opportunities this Autumn and next Summer."

As a celebration for current BTEC students, new BTEC students starting in September, young people that are a part of our Premier League Kicks programme and young people interested in being a part of NCS, will be invited to attend a virtual quiz and awards ceremony evening via Zoom on Monday 6th July at 5:30pm.
