‘Extra Time Hubs’ is a national project from the EFL Trust and will be initially be delivered by 12 EFL Clubs including your local Football Club Community team, Lincoln City Foundation.
· The Extra Time Hubs will provide a wide range of activities for retired and semi-retired people.
· Extra Time Hubs will enable people to decide which activities they want to do and not be prescribed to them.
· The Extra Time Hubs will harness the power of football clubs in the local communities to bring people together.
The launch of Lincoln City Foundation Extra Time Hub has been made possible with thanks to National Lottery funding from Sport England. We aim to bring together retired and semi-retired people to have a positive effect on the range of activities available to them in their free time and the opportunity to meet and spend time with like-minded people from the area and to prove that you are never too old to learn to do the things you’ve always wanted to do. In effect, they can come together to shape their social time with their group, supported by our Lincoln City Foundation team. Nothing is off the menu.
Ian Johns, Extra Time Hub Activator said: “The beauty of the Extra Time Hub is any activity you would like to do, we will try to find it for you within our own program, through another providers program or explore if it is viable to start it from scratch.”
Mike Evans, EFL Trust Director of Operations said: “With the support of Sport England’s Active Aging fund from the National Lottery, our Extra Time Hubs give people who are retired the opportunity to meet like-minded people and create activities for the group that could have a benefit for their physical or mental health…”
Come and join us every Monday at 1000 at the Legends Lounge, Sincil Bank Stadium or you can contact Kirsten or Ian on 01522 563792 to find out if Extra Time Hubs is for you.
