The Sincil Bank Community Response Team, coordinated by Lincoln City Foundation, would not have been able to help as many individuals as it has in recent weeks without the support of a number of local volunteers.
These volunteers have been helping others in their community when during the Covid-19 outbreak many have found themselves in a time of real need.
The Community Response Team, in partnership with the Lincolnshire Coop food stores and pharmacies, have been able to ensure individuals receive their essential shopping and prescriptions whilst self-isolating – a vital service for those who may not have support networks around them to remain safe and follow the current government guidelines.
Joanna Okrasa, Place Based Social Action Project Manager at Lincoln City Foundation, has been coordinating the volunteers and recognises the lengths they have gone to “the Community Response Team volunteers have shown immense commitment over the past weeks and have a true willingness to look out for their neighbours. Their actions have been selfless and will have undoubtedly have helped put many people’s minds at rest and kept them safe throughout what continues to be a challenging time for us all.”
"On the behalf of the Foundation and most importantly the community of Sincil Bank, I would like to say a massive ‘Thank you’ to everyone who has volunteered to help their community during this crisis. You are doing a fantastic job!"
Thank you to the Community Response Team volunteers – you are all local heroes!
