Amazing Volunteers: Anne Lawson

Anne is a dedicated volunteer in the Sincil Bank area of Lincoln and has been volunteering in connection with the Community Organising team at Lincoln City Foundation for many years.

Anne has a passion for bringing people together and involving others in their community and is enthusiastic about making her neighbourhood an improved place to live.

In one of her voluntary roles Anne is Chair of a local community group and has helped to plan and deliver a number of local projects including community events, cohesion projects, street parties and litter picking programmes. Anne recognises the power of community volunteering and says that “getting people involved gives a sense of achievement and restores pride in our area. Volunteering means I meet new people and learn about different cultures”

In particular, Anne has championed her own project entitled ‘Sincil Banksy’, a community art project aiming to bring more colour to community spaces and regenerate spots which have been targeted by unwanted graffiti.

Ann says; “I love volunteering in my community - community is all”

Thank you Anne – your passion for your local community is simply amazing!
