What to Expect
Education is hugely important, and this aspect of the programme will help students achieve a productive and fulﬁlling career in sport, both on and off the ﬁeld. Students offered a place on the programme, will receive both football coaching and education programmes through Lincoln City Foundation and the University of South Wales. All students will study towards a Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development for 2 years, with an optional 3rd year to top the qualification up to a BSc. Your lectures will be a mixture of theory and practical sessions in order to deliver course content. The qualification is split into units, which are assessed through written reports, presentations, discussions, case studies, workbooks and practical assessments.
Via blended learning methods, you will benefit from the expertise of highly qualified teachers on-site at Lincoln City Foundation and via virtual means with lecturers from the University of South Wales. Twice per academic year, you will be able to visit the University of South Wales for inductions and assessments.
Students will have the opportunity to coach a variety of sessions for Lincoln City Foundation as part of the community team and as a sessional coach.
To provide students with the best opportunity to succeed, 10 hours of football coaching will be incorporated into the timetable in year 1, and 8 hours into the timetable in year 2.
