Three months until Imps Half!

Updated: Apr 20, 2023

Runners will go past some of the city's most iconic landmarks in the first ever Lincoln City Half Marathon - which is now just three months away.

Starting and finishing in Boultham Park, the route will see participants go past uphill landmarks, while the event itself will provide a platform for individuals to strive to meet goals, achieve new challenges, and create healthier habits.

The route showcases the city's beautiful green spaces, incredible history, and riverside culture to give a full taste of what Lincoln is about.

Alice Carter, head of healthier communities at Lincoln City Foundation, said: "We are all very excited as we mark three months until the big day. We can see the plans really coming together now and every time a new person signs up it feels that bit closer.

"The route is designed to celebrate the diverse nature of Lincoln and whether you are someone experienced at this distance or someone looking to challenge yourself and raise money, it promises to be a day to remember.

"The Foundation, the charitable arm of the football club, strives to help individuals and communities to improve their physical, social, and mental wellbeing, and to be able to do that while also celebrating this amazing city - and bringing in people from across the country, maybe even the world, to take part - feels pretty good too."

The event is being staged in participation with Curly's Athletes. Jonathan Frary added: "We're delighted to support Lincoln City Foundation.

"This is the first time we've run this event but with such an iconic route I'm sure it can become a highlight of the calendar and one of the first races people sign up for."

As well as signing up to participate, there are still opportunities to support this community event as a sponsor. To find out more about the event and register for your place on the start line, visit www.lincolncityhalfmarathon.co.uk
